Forecast International Introduces Groundbreaking Industrial & Marine Gas Turbine Installations Database

NEWTOWN, Conn. [December 8, 2014] — Forecast International, a recognized provider of power systems market intelligence, has launched a completely revamped Industrial & Marine Gas Turbine Installations Database. A listing of gas turbine installations worldwide is now easily accessible, along with a wealth of information for each apparatus.

The Forecast International database lists not only plants involved in power generation, but also the locations of gas turbines used for mechanical drives. Gas turbines used to power civilian and military vessels are also included, making the Forecast International I&M database a one-stop location for gas turbine operating data.

Among the major benefits of the new Forecast International I&M database are the following:

  • Includes Title V air operating permit numbers (where designated) for U.S. plants
  • Inventory lines now include emission unit number, model, fuel category, fuel type, and burner type, among other data
  • Web interface allows for quick search in three formats, plus saved searches
  • Web interface has filter options for all major fields

The Industrial & Marine Gas Turbine Installations Database is an integral part of Forecast International's Power Systems Group of products, which includes the industry-leading Platinum 2.0 Forecast System®. Based on Platinum-derived data, Forecast International sees a booming I&M gas turbine engine market over the next 15 years. The firm projects that manufacturers will build some 48,000 gas turbine engines for power generation, mechanical drive, and marine propulsion applications during the period. The value of this production is $619.3 billion (in 2014 U.S. dollars).

The Platinum 2.0 system further projects that gas turbine production will gradually rise from 2,822 units in 2014 to 3,508 units in 2026 before decreasing slightly in the outyears.

Forecast International representatives will be available at POWER-GEN International December 9-11 in Orlando, Florida (Booth #1373). Attendees will have the opportunity to inspect the I&M database's new portal, a user-friendly interface that allows a host of custom data runs. Also on display will be FI's Industrial & Marine Turbine Forecast (Gas & Steam) product, featuring reports and 10-year production forecasts for all major I&M machines. FI will also be demonstrating its Platinum 2.0 Forecast System at the show.
