BEIJING -- China is wants to win export orders for its Z-10ME attack helicopter. Aviation Industry Corporation of China (CAIC) developed this helicopter.
The Z-10ME is an improved version of the Z-10 that reportedly uses a new engine. This version offers improved mobility, protection and firepower.
China is looking to sell this attack helicopter to countries in the Middle East, Southeast Asia and South America. Chinese officials say its helicopter is less expensive than the U.S.-made AH-64 Apache, but offers similar firepower.
Potential buyers include Pakistan, Thailand, Malaysia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, according to Chinese officials.
